When should I go?

Based on the idea that this itinerary is heavily slanted towards watersport, here’s a climate summary of Biarritz and the Basque coast.

Late Spring (May–June): Warm but not overly hot, fewer crowds, and excellent surf conditions. Seas are warming up, perfect for beginners with a wetsuit. A great balance of culture + adventure.

Early Autumn (September): Still warm, sea temperatures ideal for swimming and watersports, but with fewer tourists compared to peak summer. Surf conditions are especially good.

July–August: Works well if you want the buzzing summer vibe, long sunny days, and beach energy. However, expect higher prices and busier beaches.

Winter is best avoided unless you’re an advanced surfer looking for big waves, as it’s rainy and too cool for casual beach fun!
